Abstract

This study aims to 1) analyze the attitudes of parents towards Auggie, Julian, and Miranda. 2) to analyze the parenting style of Auggie, Julian, and Miranda's parents. And lastly, 3) to find out the impacts of parenting style on Auggie, Julian, and Miranda's behavior in the film Wonder (2017). This study uses the theory of Parenting Style from Diana Baumrind. This research is qualitative research focusing on the impacts of parenting on the behavior of Auggie, Julian, and Miranda characters. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive analysis. From this study, three findings were found based on the formulation of the problem—first, the attitudes of each parent. The author found three tendencies of parents' attitudes, namely cognitive, affective and conative. Second, the parenting style of each parent. Auggie's parents are authoritative, Julian's parents are permissive-indulgent, and Miranda's parents are uninvolved–neglectful. And third, the impacts of each parenting style. Auggie tends to have a good nature, Julian tends to be evil and selfish, and Miranda feels lonely and depressed
