Abstract

Water is an important part of all living things, not only for consumption but also for other purposes, in some countries water is used for hydroelectric power generation. Generally, in rice fields in Indonesia, water is only used as irrigation channels, but water can be used as an alternative energy source. The water rotates a turbine to drive a generator that produces electricity. The use of pesticides in the control of leafhoppers has the potential to damage the environment. By using light as an attention-grabbing tool for leafhoppers, a tool is developed to catch leafhoppers. In this study, the method that the author uses includes the design of planthopper fishing equipment and field testing of equipment in the rice field area. Based on the test results, the time required to charge a 7.2 Ah battery with a charging current of 0.03 A is 240 hours. For the duration of use of the battery (battery) capacity of 7.2 Ah with a load current of 0.15 A is 96 hours.
