Abstract
Errors in learning are a disturbance or obstacle that can result in not optimal learning outcomes. Analysis of student errors can be done by re-examining the results of student work and asking students to explain how students solve PISA-oriented math problems through interviews. The purpose of this study was to describe students' errors in solving PISA-oriented math problems based on Watson's criteria and their causes in 9th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Adipala, Cilacap district. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subject-taking technique is based on the answers to the subject questions that are wrong and considered interesting to be explored more deeply and the subjects that can provide the most information, so that 3 subjects are grade 9 students. incorrect procedure category error is 39.82%, missing conclusion category error is 37.17%, incorrect data category error and skill hierarchy problem with the same percentage is 6.19%, error with indirect manipulation category is 5.75 %, as well as missing data category errors and response level conflicts with the same percentage of 1.32%. From the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that students' errors in solving probability problems are caused by not understanding the concept of using and applying formulas. The reason is that students are not careful and cannot understand the meaning of the question. Keywords: student errors, math problems, PISA, Watson criteria
