Abstract

The rapid development of the sharia-based financial industry both globally and in Indonesia has begun to increase in recent years. This can be seen from the performance and public confidence, so that they are able to allocate economic resources efficiently and are able to encourage economic growth. According to the Global Islamic Finance Report (GIFR), Indonesia in 2019 had the best achievement, namely the world ranking 1 award in the Islamic finance industry through the 2019 Islamic Finance Country Index (IFCI) assessment. The main purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Islamic banking development on economic growth in Indonesia. This research uses panel data, namely the period 2015 – 2019 in 33 provinces in Indonesia obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and Sharia Banking Statistics (SPS). The results of research indicate that the variables of BUS and UUS Third Party Funds, Regional Expenditures, and Labours have an effect on Economic Growth which is manifested in the form of Gross Regional Domestic Product (Based on Constant Prices). While the variables of BUS and UUS Financing, Investment, and Exports have no effect on Economic Growth.
