Abstract

The manufacturing industry sector is one of the important sectors in the economic development of a country. The manufacturing industry has the ability to increase high added value. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of labor, exchange rates, and investment in the industrial sector on the added value of the manufacturing industry in Indonesia in 1998-2019. The data used in this study are secondary data from the time series (time series) from 1998 to 2019. Analysis tool used in this research is the ECM econometric model (Error Correction Model). Based on the results of the ECM analysis, it shows that the exchange rate variable has a positive and significant effect on the manufacturing value added variable (VAM) in the short and long term. The industrial investment sector variable (PMDN) has a negative and significant effect on manufacturing value added (VAM) in the short and long term. Meanwhile, the labor variable does not have a significant effect on manufacturing value added (VAM) in the short and long term.
