Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a violation within the state and society including norms, rules, or laws committed by juveniles. Juvenile delinquency is formed from the attitude of adolescents towards juvenile delinquency behavior and adolescents perceive social pressure or group pressure to do or not to commit juvenile delinquency. There are 2 factors that influence juvenile delinquency, namely internal and external factors. External factors include family, and school environment. Communication between family members can lead to juvenile delinquency due to lack of attention, lack of communication between family members, a poor school environment can lead to juvenile delinquency due to strong peer conformity in order to get recognition or identity from friends. This study aims to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication and peer conformity with peer delinquency. This study uses a quantitative approach. The sample of this research is students of class X, XII, and XIII at SMK Harapan Kartasura, totaling 46. The method of collecting data is using a questionnaire. Test the validity of the data using expert judgment techniques. Method of data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between interpersonal communication and peer conformity with juvenile delinquency and obtained an F-value of 15.204 and a p-value of 0.000. Correlation of interpersonal communication with juvenile delinquency shows a positive relationship between interpersonal communication and juvenile delinquency and obtained an r-value of 0,588 and a p-value of 0.000. The correlation between peer conformity showed a negative relationship between peer conformity and adolescent wear and obtained an r-value of -0,329 and a p-value of 0.013. Effective contribution of interpersonal communication and peer conformity is 41.4% and 58.6% is influenced by other factors not examined.
