Abstract

This research is included in qualitative descriptive research using literature study data collection techniques. The results and discussion presented are obtained from the film entitled "Women with the Turban" as primary data and secondary data in the form of books, journals, previous research. Idrus, 2009:147-148) and assisted by the theory of Semiotics put forward by Ferdinand De Saussure (1857-1913). The film entitled 'Perempuan Berkalung Turban' by Hanung Bramantyo which was released in 2009 is the main object of this research. The film was chosen as the object of research because the film has a very strong theme of gender equality, especially gender inequality.The purpose of this research is to teach the meaning and importance of gender equality to high school students through literary learning with film media. The benefit of this research is to make the reader understand the importance of teaching the meaning of gender equality in school, and the reader to know the meaning contained in the film entitled "Perempuan Berkalung Turban" by Hanung Bramantyo.
