Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the structure that builds Dee Lestari's Aroma Karsa novel, (2) describe the moral values in Dee Lestari's Aroma Karsa novel with a Sociology of Literature review, (3) describe its relevance in Dee Lestari's Aroma Karsa novel with learning literature in high school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with the object of research is the moral aspect in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari. Data collection was carried out using library, listening, and note-taking techniques. The validity of the data using the theory of triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique was carried out by the dailectic analysis technique. The results of this study are (1) the structure of the novel Aroma Karsa, among others, Theme is Adventure. The facts of the story, a) the plot used is a mixed plot, b) the main character is Jati Wesi, c) the setting of the place in this novel is in Bekasi City, Yogyakarta City, Jakarta City, France, and Karanganyar Regency, the time setting occurs between the 2016 period. Later, the social background raised between poverty and wealth, a person's struggle in dreaming something, determination, honesty, and concern for fellow human beings, (2) the moral aspects in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari there are four moral aspects, namely human moral values, morals association, moral justice, and religious morals, (3) this research is in accordance with the criteria for selecting teaching materials, namely a) language aspects, b) psychological aspects, c) students' background aspects so that they can be relevant as teaching materials in class XI SMA in accordance with KD 3.11 analyzes messages from fiction books that are read.
