Abstract

Mathematics plays an important role in various scientific disciplines. Mathematics learning carried out in schools is expected to be used as a means to train students' ability in problem solving. However, it is undeniable that today there are still many students who have not mastered the ability to solve mathematical problems. Students tend to only memorize formulas and perform calculations, but do not solve problems systematically. In this pandemic condition, face-to-face learning must be shifted to online learning, to prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. One of the media that is widely used by teachers to provide online learning is Google Classroom. In some schools, Google Classroom is considered effective in providing materials and assignments to students. Although learning is carried out online. expected to continue to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This study aims to describe the ability to solve equations and inequalities of linear absolute value of one variable in Google Classroom-based online learning. This research is a type of qualitative research. Data collection techniques using tests and interviews. The data analysis technique went through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was carried out by using technical triangulation. The subjects in this study were three students of class X TKJ 1 SMK Negeri Jenawi, which consisted of one student with high category problem solving ability, one student with medium category problem solving ability, and one student with low category problem solving ability. carried out, the conclusions obtained are: 1) high-ability students can meet the four indicators of solving mathematical problems on three of the four questions given. In one of the remaining questions, students only met the indicators of understanding the problem, 2) moderately capable students were able to meet the four indicators of solving mathematical problems in one of the four questions given. In the other two questions, students only met the indicators of understanding the problem and in one of the remaining questions, students only met the indicators of understanding the problem, making problem-solving plans, implementing problem-solving plans, 3) low-ability students had not met the four problem-solving indicators in three of the four questions given. . In one other question, students only met the indicators of preparing a problem-solving plan.
