Abstract

Grouting is a process of injection of a cement mixture under pressure into hard-to-reach gaps. The background of conducting a study on grouting is to analyze the need for grouting on soil or rock, to find out how to determine the depth and material required, to determine the appropriate grouting method, and to evaluate the effectiveness of the grouting work carried out. The research method used is direct observation in the field, interviews, and literature studies. Based on direct observation and interviews, it is known that the grouting method on the Cipanas Dam riverbed uses a downstage method with packers. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it is concluded that the Cipanas Dam needs foundation repair, because the condition of the foundation structure is composed of tuffaceous sedimentary rocks, the Lugeon value obtained from the water pressure test (WPT) > 3 is 17.765 Lu, and the K value > nx 10-5 that is equal to 2.4x10-4. The distance between the holes from the results of the trial grouting is 2 meters in curtain grouting while the distance between the subcurtain and blanket grouting is 3 meters. The minimum depth for curtain grouting is 50 meters, subcurtains as deep as 10 meters and blanket grouting as deep as 5 meters. Evaluation of the effectiveness of grouting is done by checking holes. The results showed that the effectiveness of grouting was classified as good to very good. Based on the evaluation of the lugeon value on the effectiveness of grouting, it is concluded that the split-spacing method can be used in the grouting work of the Cipanas Dam.
