Abstract

This study aims to determine the Forming Limit Diagram at the time of necking and fracture with Dual Phase 780 material, and to determine the effect of plate thickness on the Forming Limit Diagram. FLD testing with Nakajima standard is done by simulation method using Abaqus/CAE software. This simulation uses the type of damage modeling, namely the GTN Model. To determine the accuracy of the FLD test simulation, the simulation results are compared with the literature data from experiments conducted by Amaral. The simulation results using the GTN model have good accuracy in etermining the Forming Limit Curve at Necking (FLCN) and also the Forming Limit Curve at Fracture of the Dual Phase 780 material which is very consistent with the experimental results and can predict fractures that occur. The thickness of the plate does not affect the position of the Forming Limit Curve at Fracture (FLCF) but only affects the time, where in general the thickness of the plate makes the plate speed faster.
