Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) the role of the Village Consultative Body in the Katikan village community so far; 2) The democratic attitude of the Katikan village community so far; 3) The roles of the Village Consultative Body in realizing the democratic attitude of the Katikan village community. This research is located in Katikan village, Kedunggalar district, Ngawi district. Data collection methods used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study used flow model. The results showed that; 1) The role of the Village Consultative Body in the Katikan village community so far is that: discussing and agreeing on draft village regulations with the village head, accommodating and channeling the aspirations of the village community, supervising the performance of the village head. 2) The democratic attitude of the Katikan village community so far can be seen through the following indicators: Deliberation, awareness of pluralism, honesty in consensus, trial and error in democracy and the way must be in line with the purpose of life. 3) The roles of the Village Consultative Body in realizing the democratic attitude of the Katikan village community so far are: accommodating and channeling the aspirations of the village community, village development, forming a village head election committee, holding village meetings (musdes).
