Abstract

Literacy culture is not simply an activity of reading, but more than that, literacy culture is awareness of understanding the realities of life. The literacy culture of Indonesia society is still low. The Indonesian people are considered not to like reading, writing, counting, or creating, which are the characteristics of a nation’s cultural literacy level. This has result in low interest in libraries and reading rooms as creative spaces so that the quality and existence of creative spaces is still lacking.The young generation in Wonogiri Regency really needs creative space as a means to developing their talents and interests. The disscussion method used in this research is literature study, interview, and observation. The purpose of this planning and design process is to conceptualized and design an attractive literacy center so that it can attract young people in wonogiri to be creative, socialize, discuss and compete with each other by improving literacy skills.
