Abstract

The decline in environmental quality at this time is not just an issue. However, environmental problems have become a major topic for countries in the world which are very important to control. This is because the quality of environment has a major influence on the welfare of people and other habitats around the world. Currently, the decline in environmental quality is also being felt in Indonesia. Environmental degradation occurs partly due to production activities that occur continuously without paying attention to environmental aspects and the implementation of unsustainable development (externalities). This mmostly occurs in developing countries, one of which is Indonesia. This is because developing countries still focus on production and development on a large scale so that economic growth continues to increase. This study uses secondary data various agencies with time series data from 1994 to 2018, the model used is PAM (Partial Adjustment Model). The result of this research is that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita has a negative and significant effect on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. While the population has a positive and significant effect on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
