Abstract

Over time, the number of people around the world will continue to experience growth, especially the increase in the number of people of working age. Indonesia is no exception, which annually experiences an increase in the number of working age population where the high increase in the working age population is not matched by an increase in the availability of employment opportunities, resulting in a high number of working age population with unemployment status. This triggers the emergence of public awareness to establish independent businesses such as UMKM (Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah). Types of UMKM are divided into two, namely manufacturing and services. “314vapeshop” is one of the UMKM engaged in retail, specifically vape equipment sales services. “314vapeshop” was founded in 2016 and until now many new competitors have emerged. Therefore, a strategy development design is needed to encourage UMKM to move forward. This research using the SEM-PLS method and SWOT analysis is expected to help business owners to design and decide what strategies should be developed in order to achieve business independence.
