Abstract

Hypertension has an impact on physical, psychosocial, and economic aspects which ultimately affect the quality of life of the sufferer. Personal characteristics of people with hypertension are multi factors that contribute to their quality of life. This study aims to describe the quality of life of patients with hypertension at Tasikmadu Health Center, Tasikmadu District, Karanganyar Regency. This research is a quantitative research using descriptive method. The study population was hypertension sufferers at the Tasikmadu Public Health Center, Karanganyar Regency. The research sample was 201 hypertensive patients based on purposive sampling technique. The research data collection used a questionnaire instrument, while the data analysis used a univariate test. The conclusion of the study is that the quality of life of patients with hypertension is mostly adequate. Quality of life aspects of physical function, physical role, and emotional role are mostly good, while other aspects are adequate. Personal characteristics of respondents' age, family history and physical activity have a tendency to cause differences in the quality of life of hypertension sufferers at the Tasikmadu Health Center, Tasikmadu Regency, Karanganyar District..
