Abstract

One of the efforts to suppress the transmission of COVID-19 is to detect body temperature. Body temperature detection is carried out to identify the possibility of being exposed to covid-19 and prevent the person concerned from mingling and being able to transmit it to others. Manually checking body temperature can result in officer saturation and a decrease in measurement accuracy due to irregular measuring distances. This study aims to create a measuring instrument that can be used automatically without anyone operating it. The advantages of this tool are that there is a buzzer as a marker that the temperature that is read exceeds the body temperature of a normal person, there is a proximity sensor to determine a fixed measuring distance, and there is also temperature data storage where this feature can be used to monitor the body temperature of people around . The test was carried out 3 times, the first test was to determine the measuring distance on the tool, and the second test was to determine the performance of the MLX90614 sensor, and the third test was to determine the performance of the buzzer. The test results show that the specified distance is 4 cm from the tool, then the results of the MLX90614 sensor performance produce an error of no more than 1%, and the results of the buzzer test will sound when the temperature is read above 38°C.
