Abstract

Looping is a program process where each command can be executed repeatedly with certain conditions. Students have difficulty understanding the processes that occur in looping, for example, students still have a little difficulty distinguishing for, while, do while statements in making a program. The purpose of this study is to teach the concept of looping using visual-based programming Scratch. The method used in this research is Experimental Research using a quasi-experimental design (Pre-Experimental Design) with the type of one group pretest-posttest design design. The participants involved in this study were students of class VII SMP N 3 Delanggu as many as 30 students as the experimental class. The experimental class uses learning modules and video tutorials containing visual programming Scratch combined with Project Based Learning. The learning modules have been tested by media experts and material experts. Based on the data analysis , in this study there is an increase in students ' understanding of the concept of looping by using visual programming Scratch.
