Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the use of communication tools WhatsApp in online learning for sixth-grade students of MIM Tejobang Simo District, Boyolali Regency, (2) the impact of online learning for sixth-grade students of MIM Tejobang Simo District, Boyolali Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, with data collection techniques interview, documentation, and observation. Data analysis is used with data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of the research from data analysis are (1) The use of communication tools WhatsApp in online learning for class VI students of MIM Tejobang Simo District, Boyolali Regency, makes a significant contribution to students considering that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet and the government forbids crowds, (2) Online learning for class students VI MIM Tejobang Simo District, Boyolali Regency, directly there are several impacts, there are positive impacts and negative impacts, (3) The average student assessment results are quite good when compared to face-to-face learning. This is because it cannot be directly supervised by the teacher so that in doing assignments students can think for themselves, ask other people or even open the internet. The average student assessment results are quite good when compared to face-to-face learning.
