Abstract

The source of electrical energy used today is still dependent on the old power plant which still uses fossils and oil as its source. It is necessary to enliven the use of renewable energy plants to anticipate the limited sources of fossil fuels and reduce the effects of environmental pollution. One of them, the use of sunlight as a source of renewable energy, which means converting solar cells into electrical energy using solar panels (photovoltaic solar). One of the places that have utilized solar panels is the business owned by Br. Nur Afian, who uses this energy source as a WIFI server resource for the people of Triyagan Village, Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo. This study aims to see how the intensity of sunlight is related to the voltage and output power of solar cells and when the highest power is produced by solar cell panels. The method used is to measure the intensity of the sun directly and calculate the power output of the solar cells, while the materials used are polycrystalline solar cell panels with a capacity of 100 Watt peak, Multitester, Inverter and SCC (Solar charger control). The study was conducted for 7 days starting at 07.00 to 18.00 WIB, the results showed that the highest solar intensity occurred at 12.00-13.00 WIB at 115,800 Lux which produced 15.53 Watts of power, while the average power for 7 days was 6.99 Watts. That there is a relationship between solar intensity and output voltage from the average graph for 7 days, while the relationship between solar intensity and power does not occur because high and low intensity is not followed by stable power. In addition, there are similarities in terms of increasing and decreasing solar intensity and power. That is, the intensity of sunlight affects the power, if the intensity is low then the power obtained decreases while when the intensity increases then the power obtained will also increase.
