Abstract

The objective of this research are to know the direct effect of profitability, non debt tax shield, liquidity and leverage to capital structure. Besides that, this study aims to know the indirect effect of profitability, non debt tax shield and liquidity where leverage as an intervening variable to capital structure. This study based on Trade-Off Theory, Pecking Order Theory and Agency Theory. Sample of this research are companies listed in Jakarta Islamic Index during the period 2017-2019. The data collection used purposive sampling method and sample is used as many as 17 companies. The data analysis technique used software Eviews version 09. Based on the results of data analysis, the inferences are: (1) Profitability, non debt tax shield and liquidity have negatif and not significant effect on leverage. , (2) Non debt tax shield and liquidity have positive and significant effect on capital structure, (3) Profitability has negatif and not significant effect on capital structure, (4) Leverage has a positive and not significant effect on capital structure, (5) Leverage can’t mediate the effect of relationship between profitability, non debt tax shield and liquidity on capital structure.
