Abstract

The Aedes aegypti mosquito is a mosquito that is often referred to as transmitters of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Mosquito control can be done using natural-based larvalides made from sweet orange peel (Citrus sinensis) which contains tannins, saponins, flavonoids and limonoids that are useful as toxic compounds for mosquito larvae. This literature review aims to determine the effectiveness of sweet orange peel in the mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae. The independent variable of this literature review is sweet orange peel extract and the dependent variable is the mortality of the larvae of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The journals used in this literature review totaled 5 and have been published through Google Scholar, Garuda, and Pubmed.. The search was conducted using the keywords ‘Uji larvasida ekstrak kulit jeruk manis (Citrus sinensis) terhadap larva Aedes aegypti', 'Larvicidal from extract sweet orange(Citrus sinensis) peel against Larvae Aedes aegypti'. The inclusion criteria of this literature review is a journal that is used indexed at least SINTA 6, has ISSN, Full text, published in 2010-2020, and uses experimental methods. The method used is to summarize the selected journal, analyze, and draw conclusions. The results show that the effective extraction method of sweet orange peel (Citrus sinensis) is maceration with ethanol and the effective concentration of sweet orange peel extract based on the results of l analysis of articles that have been reported according to WHO criteria for LC90 is 700 mg/L. Based on the results of a literature review and the content in the extract of sweet orange peel, the peel of sweet orabge is effective killing Aedes aegypti larvae and can be used as a natural larvicide.
