Abstract

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) is one type of generator that has a fairly high level of efficiency because there are no excitation losses generated. This causes this type of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) to be used in generators, especially wind power plants. The development of generators, of course, cannot be separated from the existence of software to design electrical machines. One of the software used to simulate it is MagNet Infolytica software which uses the Finite Element Method (FEM). The simulation test results are then processed and analyzed and then get the generator output, namely voltage, current, torque, input power, output power, and efficiency. The Vdc Average value or the average voltage produced by no-load variations with a rotational speed of 100 RPM is 9.16 volts while for a rotational speed of 750 RPM it is 67.51 volts. While the load simulation test using speed variations and load variations is analyzed by looking at the graph of the voltage value, input power and output power. The lowest efficiency is found at a rotational speed of 100 RPM with a load of 5 Ohms and produces an efficiency of 6% and the highest is found at a rotational speed of 750 RPM with a load of 50 Ohms and produces an efficiency of 83%.
