Abstract

Until now, in Madiun Regency, especially in the Kare District, electrification has not been evenly distributed and has not been able to meet the overall electricity demand due to geographical conditions. As is the case in Poleng Hamlet as one of the operating areas, one of the areas that is the focus of the research is that there is no access road in Poleng Hamlet due to geographical conditions that are difficult to supply electricity from PLN. This study proposes a configuration model for Solar Power Plants (PLTS) with renewable energy as the fulfillment of electrical energy needs. This is because Poleng Hamlet has a fairly good potential for solar radiation energy with an average annual rate of 5.26 kWh/m2/day. The research uses the load method to determine PV mini-grid and the use of HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Model for Energy Renewable) development software. The results of the study are the optimal PLTS off grid configuration system from the HOMER simulation results in Poleng Hamlet consisting of 4.27 kW PV, 1 kW MPPT, 3 kW 10 units of battery and 0.746 kW converter in Modeling 1 using 12W LED lamp load while in modeling 2 which uses a 22W CFL lamp load, namely 9.40 kW PV, 2 kW MPPT, 14 units 3 kW battery, 1.38 kW converter. In Model 1 it takes 3 solar panels arranged in series and for Model 2 it takes 6 solar panels arranged in series. Based on the optimal configuration at the lowest NPC value, namely Modeling 1 of Rp. 39,400,000 with an excess of 817 kWh/year of electricity supply while Model 2 is Rp. 72,400,000 with excess electricity supply of 2226 kWh/year. Thus, from the results of the two modeling designs, BEP occurred in 13.
