Abstract

Land is defined as a space on the earth’s surface that is naturally limited by certain physical properties and land forms. Whereas land resources are in it which containing all the elements of its source, both below and above the earth's surface. This research was conducted in Tawangmangu Sub-district, Karanganyar Regency. Tawangmangu Sub- distrct is one of the areaas that has experienced land use change. This is bcause the Tawangmangu District area is a tourist area and has beautiful natural beauty. Thus, there are many new buildings such as hotels, villas, and restaurants. The prpose of this study is to anlyze land use changee that occurred in the study area in the period 2010-2020 and to anlyze the important factorss thatt spur land use change in the study area. The resesarch method used was a survey, which wass charaacterized by the sample use in data collection . Sampling was taken from a portion of the populatiion basd on certaiin considertions. Sampling used purposive sampling method. In addition, the analyss of the research was caried out using a qualitatiive descriptive method that utilizes GIS technologgy, namelly by using the overlay methood by overlapping years 2010-2020, therefore; the resultss can be analyzed using descriptive methods. The factors tht cause land use change were carried out using qualitative data analysis methods . Landuse changess froom 2010-2020 weree dominateed by dry land agricultural land use types of 2265,451 hectares. Moreover, the village that experienced the most land changes was Blumbang Village, which amounted to 16,988 hectares.
