Abstract

This study aims to describe the process, effectiveness, constraints and solutions for the use of the strategy with a Point Counter Point combination of audio visual media to improve understanding of the values of Indonesian democracy in class XI TKJ B-TAV SMK Adi Sumarmo Colomadu academic year 2020/2021. This study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches (mixing methods). The qualitative approach design uses case studies, while the quantitative uses pre-experimental with One Group Pretest Posttest Design. Qualitative data collection techniques used observation and interviews. Quantitative data collection using tests. Test the validity of the test items using the formula, Correlation Product Moment rough numbers and the reliability test of the test instruments using the KR.20 formula. The validity of the qualitative data used triangulation of sources and techniques. The data analysis in the quantitative approach used the T-test, while the qualitative approach used the flow model data analysis. The results showed that tcount was greater than ttable, namely 11.461> 1.689 with a significance level of 0.05. The mean score of pretest 51.7 increased to 80 at the posttest. Based on these results it can be concluded that there is an increase in the average value of the pretest and posttest. The proposed hypothesis Ho rejected and Ha accepted, meaning that there are different understandings of the values of Democracy Indonesia between before (pretest) and after being given treatment (posttest) using the strategy Point Counter Point combination of audio visual media at the class XI TKJ B-TAV Adi Sumarmo Colomadu Vocational High School, 2020/2021 academic year. This difference shows an increase in the average score of understanding the values of Indonesian Democracy between before (Pretest) and after treatment (Posttest). The obstacle faced in this research is the limited time related to the implementation of the research. An alternative solution to overcome the obstacle is that the researchers arrive early. The conclusion above implies that if you want to improve your understanding of the values of Indonesian democracy, one of the alternatives is to use the strategy with a Point Counter Point combination of audio visual media.
