Abstract

Blindness is a term that is usually used for the condition of people who have vision problems. When a blind person is doing a traveling activity, the tool needed is a stick to help the trip. So, a stick was developed that can make it easier for blind people to travel and make it easier for families to find out the location of blind people when they are outside the house. With GPS (Global Positioning System), this tool will get a coordinate signal that can be accessed via an android smartphone. Access using an android smartphone by sending short messages using the keyword "TRACKER", the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) on the stick will send a reply in the form of a coordinate point which can be accessed via the application google maps. In addition to families who can access, blind people can also send a signal of assistance to the family if they have difficulty finding their way home by pressing the push button on the stick. After that the coordinate point will be sent to the smartphone family via short message. Blind people while traveling can also find out the obstacles in front of them with the ultrasonic sensor system found on the stick. The distance that can be read by the sensor is 100 cm, if the reading distance of the sensor is <100 cm, the buzzer will make a sound that can be heard by blind people.
