Abstract

The population of cats in the capital city was recorded at more than 30,000 heads in 2018. Meanwhile, the Bali Provincial Health Office for Disease Eradication and Environmental Health estimates that there were around 500,000 dogs in 2018. 85% of the data collected showed that the dogs were left stray to be susceptible to diseases that can be transmitted to humans. Abandoned animals can be exposed to infection due to the difficulty of getting food. So the animal eats food from the trash. The amount of waste in Indonesia is 64 million tons every year and will continue to grow. Currently, no tool can detect plastic and non-plastic waste automatically. In addition, no device will provide free food to abandoned animals. The incorporation algorithm selects plastic waste and further opens the valve for animal feeding is carried out in this paper. This publication describes a SAFE machine device that can feed street animals by disposing of plastic bottles. This tool uses two sensors, namely, LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) Sensor and IR (Infrared) Sensor, to select plastic bottle waste that will go into the trash and be forwarded to Arduino as a controller. If the sensor detects a plastic bottle, the user will select the type of food to be removed. If the stock in the food tank is exhausted, the machine sends a notification to the admin to immediately refill the food tank. From the tests carried out, the use of LDR is more responsive than IR, with an average response time of about 0.5 seconds with an effective distance of 20 cm.
