Abstract

This study aims to describe 1) Thematic lesson plans based on language skills for class V Elementary Schools in Polokarto District, 2) obstacles in the preparation of thematic lesson plans based on language skills for grade V Elementary Schools in Polokarto District. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The data collection techniques used were analysis sheets, interviews, and documentation to fifth grade teachers at SDN Rejosari 1, SDN Rejosari 2, SDN Tepisari 1, SDN Mranggen 1, and SDN Mranggen 3 in Polokarto District. The validity of the data used technique and source triangulation. The data analysis process used three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that 1) Listening was implemented in learning activities by observing and reading dialogues in books, then inviting students to listen, students were asked to rewrite the reading that had been read by one of the students, students must also listen and answer questions given by the teacher. Talking is implemented in learning activities by giving questions, students discussing questions posed by the teacher. Students can express their opinions or the results of discussions in front of the class. Students can also bring up things they find in advertisements in books. Reading is implemented in learning activities by providing the reading contained in the book and then the students read the reading. Students also read the results of their presentations in front of the class, students express opinions about the understanding that has been obtained in written language. And writing is implemented in learning activities by providing advertising images, students look at the advertisement images, then students write down the things they find in the advertisements, the teacher gives reading, then students complete the diagrams in the book, students can also write conclusions lessons learned during learning. 2) The obstacles experienced by the teacher in the preparation of Thematic RPP based on language skills in class V Elementary Schools in Polokarto District are limited time in compiling, limited media to apply aspects of language skills in learning.
