Abstract

Oyster mushroom cultivation has prospects for development because it has a high enough economic value so that it can increase household income. This study aims to describe the role of the oyster mushroom business to increase household income. Based on the formulation of the problem, the appropriate type of research is qualitative research because it helps researchers explore deeper information. Using an ethnographic research design because it can produce real-world research that produces realistic and naturalistic data. Collecting data in this study by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The data validity technique uses source trianulation. The stages of data analysis techniques include determining informants, interviewing informants, making ethnographic notes, asking descriptive questions, analyzing interviews, creating domains, asking structural questions, making taxonomies, asking contrasting questions, componential analysis, finding cultural themes, and writing ethnography. The results showed that the cultivation of oyster mushrooms has a role in increasing household income because and can create jobs for the surrounding community.
