Abstract

Education is an important thing in a person’s life because education is a way to educate of the nation. Education consists of educators and students who establish communication and discussion about a lesson about teaching and learning activities are usually carried out with the storytelling method as one of the delivering of materials to easier understanding, from the material provided by educators, educators only provide classical or teacher-centered learning methods. This is causes students to get bored easily. Therefore, another way that lessons are not centered on teachers, educators can provide new innovations by presenting audiovisual media as a fun learning. The purpose of this research is to find out how to implementation audiovisual media-based activities and to know how to apply learning using audiovisual media. Audiovisual media for class eighth SMP N Surakarta. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a research design in the form of a case study by means of observation, tests, and online interviews through the google classroom application. The result of the study can be concluded that 1) In the test conducted at the beginning of the meeting, an average score 58.67 was obtained for class scores so it was stated to be less than the school’s KKM score. 2) At the first stage of the test using audiovisual media, it was students are still less active and enthusiastic about participating in the subject matter as seen from the class average of 74.67. 3) at learn activities with audiovisual media were considered successful from the second test assessment with got an average number of 82.67 this was considered effective because it had reached the school KKM score of 75. This mean that use of audiovisual media affects students learning outcomes, as long as the student scores showed an increase. Students also dared to speak with good and correct vocabulary and procedures.
