Abstract

The Surakarta Muamalah Market is located at Joglo Dakwah Sakinah (JDS) Building, Cemani, Grogol District, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java. This market uses the concept of Islamic Market, which is the concept that was implemented by the Prophet Muhammad to the Madinah Market. The Surakarta Muamalah Market refers to the application of sharia values and strictly forbids the practice of usury in every buying and selling transaction. In addition to using rupiah, the Surakarta Muamalah Market also uses dinar and dirham coins as a transaction tool. There is no tax fee and space rental is one of the attractions of the Surakarta Muamalah Market.This study aims to determine the application of the Islamic Market concept in the era of the Prophet Muhammad to transaction activities in the Surakarta Muamalah Market. The research method used is field research. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach. There are three main points that are the focus of the research, there are: the application of indicators or the Sunnah of the Islamic Market, the concept of al-Hisbah or market supervision, and the prohibition of price intervention.Based on the results of the analysis above, it can be concluded that Pasar Muamalah Surakarta has implemented the three main points of research well. Islamic Market indicators are: a market similar to a mosque, no private ownership, no tax and rent fees, no claim/booking of places, no barriers or shops in the market, well implemented in Muamalah Market Surakarta . The Surakarta Muamalah Market Coordinator, apart from being the market chairman, also serves as al-muhtasib or market supervisor. In addition, there is no policy of intervention in the price of goods in the Surakarta Muamalah Market. The price of goods is set based on an agreement between the buyer and seller.
