Ngemplak subdistrict tends to experience land changes in groups caused by the location of the sub-district that connects surakarta, Boyolali and surrounding areas. This study aims to: analyze the pattern of distribution of land use distribution in the period 2014 to 2020 and know the distribution of land use in ngemplak subdistrict in 2014 and 2020. The determination of land use transition in this study utilizes visual interpretation methods supported by surveys. The data in this study used Quickbird imagery in 2014 and Geoeye-1 in 2020 that were processed and produced a more detailed level of geoeye-1 imagery than Quickbird. The method of analysis of land use changes between 2014 and 2020 uses overlays of both land use data using geographic information systems. Analysis of land distribution patterns using nearest neighborhood analyst method. Based on the determination resulting land change of 430 ha with some land use experienced land function transfer within 10 years, both the increase and reduction of land area. Frequent land changes are settlement land that increases by 33.29 ha to 972.15 ha in 2020 spread in almost every village in Ngemplak subdistrict, especially in Gagaksipat village, Pandeyan village and Sawahan village. The use of rice fields has reduced the area of land use by 199.2 ha. The pattern of land use changes in Ngemplak sub-district shows results with a value of Nearest Neighbor Ratio (NNR) of 0.436317 which indicates that the pattern of land use change spread in Ngemplak Subdistrict is a pattern of clustering with a z-score significance value of -48.02 or not close to 0.00 so it is significant.
