Abstract

The online learning sistem is a strategy dealing with the Covid-19 virus outbreak that is sweeping the world. However, in reality the online learning system still has various controversies, one of which is academic procrastination. This study aims to examine the relationship between perceptions of online learning and student’s academic procrastination behavior. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a negative relationship between student perceptions of online learning and student academic procrastination. The subjects in this study were 147 active students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta who were carrying out online learning. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data collection tools used are the perception scale of online learning and the academic procrastination scale. Data analysis was carried out by analyzing Pearson Moment product correlation using SPSS for windows. The results of the analysis of the data obtained show a correlation coefficient of = -0.255; p = 0.001 (p <0.05) which indicates a significant negative correlation between perceptions of online learning and academic procrastination behavior. This results show that the proposed hypothesis is proven, it can be concluded that the higher perception of active students at Muhammadiyah Surakarta University who are carrying out online learning towards online learning, the lower their academic procrastination behavior.
