Abstract

This study aims to identify, describe and describe the resilience (resilience) of volunteers based on individual involvement factors, describe and describe the obstacles and strategies to overcome volunteer problems. This study uses a qualitative method that focuses on qualitative descriptive conducted with non-probability sampling more specifically purpose sampling consisting of 6 volunteers aged between 40-60 years. The data collection method in this study used in-depth interviews. Data analysis using Thematic Analysis was carried out through in-depth interviews as the data collection stage, then the data was processed into verbatim then coding was carried out to determine the themes. The validity of the data used a member check with the aim of testing the validity of the data held by the researcher. The results of this study indicate that the resilience of disaster volunteers is influenced by internal and external factors. Internal includes calling the soul or altruism, external includes empathy to see the threat in an area. The problems experienced consisted of several aspects including physical, psychological, self-ability, time constraints, economic and environmental limitations. The process of solving problems in three ways, namely: self, family and social life. Solving problems yourself with self-acceptance and prioritizing self-safety. Solving family problems with time management and establishing good relationships with others. Solving social problems by carrying out standard operating procedures, social support and self-motivation. The resilience of disaster volunteers in Sukoharjo district are altruism, empathy, self-confidence, optimism and responsibility towards themselves and their families, social support, social skills, good communication skills and volunteer motivation.
