Abstract

Parents are the primary and first educators for children so that they have a big influence on children's development (Mulyadi & Sutadi, 2014). The role of parents, namely father and mother, greatly influences the achievement of optimal development in children with autism. In the traditional marriage concept, the husband is in charge of earning a living while the household and child care are the responsibility of the wife. However, for now there are many wives who are involved in earning a living, this requires flexibility to be involved in caring for many, especially those who live in urban areas (Lestari, 2012). Research Objectives to determine the relationship between the characteristics of parents who have children with autism in the city to cognitive, affective, psychomotor, at the autism service center in Sragen. The results of this study are expected to complement previous research and can be used as material for further research. This type of research is quantitative with cross sectional analytic observational research design. Quantitative is a measured, rational and systematic objective research, with data obtained in the form of a setra number analysis using statistical methods. Observational research design in the form of research where there is no intervention or treatment of variables. This research is to observe the phenomenon that occurs. The results of this study first used the univariate test to describe the sample based on age, education, occupation and parental abilities. Then using multiple correlation test linear regression in which age, education and work are related to affect cognitive, affective and psychomotor simultaneously by 22.7%. Education is a dominant factor that affects aspects, cognitive and psychomotor. From the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that between age and work does not have a significant effect on cognitive, affective and psychomotor. Meanwhile, education is the dominant factor affecting cognitive and psychological aspects.
