Abstract

The purpose of this study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of instructional video media material environmental damage due to flooding on the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta. This research is an experimental study using one group pretest and posttest design treatment. The data collection techniques used were documentation, observation and tests. The prerequisite test for data analysis used the normality test. The data analysis test used the T test (T-Test) to answer the hypothesis. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta, totaling 110 students. Sampling using purposive sampling, namely sampling based on research objectives. The results showed that the narrative learning video was effective in learning material on environmental damage due to flooding. This can be seen based on the results of hypothesis testing using paired samples test showing a significant value of 0.000, which means <0.05 that the hypothesis is accepted. Based on the results of data analysis in this study, it can be concluded that the instructional video media was declared effective.
