Abstract

In the installation of electrical power systems in the transmission and distribution network does not escape the interference that can interfere with the process of distribution of electrical energy, it can be internal interference or external interference. Therefore, safety equipment is needed to protect it. One of the external interferences that causes equipment failure in the transmission network is lightning strikes. Equipment commonly used to protect against interference due to lightning strikes is called a lightning arrester. The importance of the role of lightning arrester needs to be done maintenance which is basically to get guaranteed the optimal functioning of lightning arrester to improve the technical life and reliability of the system. This final task research aims to determine the reliability of lightning arrester bay jajar 2 gondangrejo substation after maintenance. Lightning arrester maintenance activities are grouped into 3 inspection levels, namely: level 1 inspection, level 2 inspection, and level 3 inspection.Based on the results of the study showed Inspection Level 1: The state or condition of lightning arrester equipment can be categorized well because there is no damage from the results of checking the physical condition of lightning arrester bay jajar 2 equipment at the substation 150 kV Gondangrejo. Level-2 Inspection: The temperature value of thermovisi results in bay jajar 2 at the substation 150 kV Gondangrejo is still fairly good because the temperature value of the clamp when shooting is not more than 39 and the difference in clamp temperature to the conductor is not more than 10. Level-3 inspection of insulation capacity does not exceed 1kV/1 MΩ. Ground ground measurements show <1 Ω with good condition evaluation results. Keywords: lightning arrester, maintenance, substation
