Abstract

In the road construction project implementation stage by PT. Istaka Karya, there are often problems and differences in what has been done in the field and what has been planned beforehand, so that the contractor often faces problems, such as delays in work during implementation and cost overrun. Therefore, this study aims to determine what factors are causing cost overruns and also the amount of cost overruns in road construction projects experienced by the contractor company PT. Istaka Karya. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to contractor staff who were involved in handling the road project as respondents to the questionnaire. The analysis in this study was assisted by using the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) application. Based on the analysis that has been carried out in this study, there are dominant factors that influence the cost overrun in road construction projects, namely Material (X4), and Project Financial Aspects (X7). Often late and material shortages at the time of implementation are the reasons why material factors can be the main factor causing cost overruns in road construction projects at the contractor company PT. Istaka Karya. In addition, the subcontractor's lack of capacity in terms of funding is also the reason why the project's financial aspects are a major factor in the cost overrun. Based on the answers from the respondents, it can be concluded that the cost overrun in road construction projects at PT. Istaka Karya ranges from 1%-20%, but there are a few projects that experience a cost overrun of 20%.
