Abstract

Labor productivity is an important indicator in enhancing economic growth. The increase in labor productivity in Indonesia in 1997-2019 tended to be slow, which could lead to an unstable rate of economic growth. This study aimed to estimate the effect of average years of schooling and life expectancy on labor productivity in Indonesia in 1997-2019 by applying Domowitz-Elbadawi Error Correction Model (ECM). The results of this study indicated that both in the short and long term, the average years of schooling and life expectancy positively affected labor productivity. Suggestions that can be given in this research are the need for attention from policy makers and policy makers in the field of education and health through improving education and health facilities and infrastructure.
