Abstract

The production process in a factory often gets difficulties both in terms of the position and condition of the material moving equipment used in carrying out its operations. In this case, it is necessary to have a good distribution planning, which is economical, both in terms of cost and time. The material transported in this plan is coffee powder which is the result of the coffee production process. Of the many types of handling equipment that can be used in its operation and taking into account the pros and cons and other advantages, the conveyor that is very suitable for use is the type of "Belt. Conveyor ”. Belt conveyor that is planned based on technical considerations. The method used in this research is direct observation methods in the field, and literature reviews related to the problems in this study. The data taken in this study are data obtained from literature studies. In this study, a technical analysis was carried out which included analysis of the belt, roller idler, roller conveyor, motor power, the moments that occurred on the input and output shafts. The driving force of this Belt Conveyor is planned to use a gear box motor that is adjusted to the results of the planningand design of the belt conveyor with a capacity of 10 tons / hour with a conveyor belt design speed of 0.5 m / s and a planned track length of 4.5 m. The design results produce a belt width of 1000 mm, belt weight 6.16 kg. which produces a maximum stress of 21.71 kg. From the calculation of the idler pulley it produces a diameter of 500 mm with a pulley weight of 233.88 kg.
