Abstract

This study aims to identify the influence of factors and design a model of increasing competitiveness for business independence. The benefit of research is to know the shortcomings in entrepreneurship, by knowing the advantages and disadvantages of the development model, the SME is able to make improvements from deficiencies or weaknesses, and make the SME able to do competitiveness so as to create business independence. This research was conducted in UKM Batik Pekalongan City, Central Java, the population of this study is based on gender, age and owner of batik Entrepreneur or Owner of SME Batik, while for a sample of entrepreneurs or business owners conducted by simple random sampling method or simple random sampling by sampling randomly in a survey without return, and also using purposive sample method that is determination of the number of samples with consideration of certain criteria. The samples used in this study amounted to 100 Batik SME Entrepreneurs in Pekalongan City, Central Java. In the data analysis research was conducted using structural equation modelling (SEM) method which is a multivariate analysis technique or statistical technique that serves and is used to build and test statistical models that are usually in the form of causal models or a series of relationships between variable constructs bound (dependent) to free variable constructs (independent). variable indicators are bound or (X) namely innovation, entrepreneurial orientation, market orientation, organization, the role of technology and competitiveness, while for free variables or variables (Y) namely business independence. The results of the study were obtained from exogenous variables that have a positive influence, namely innovation variables, entrepreneurial orientation, market orientation. While variables that have a negative influence are variable role of technology. Variables that have a positive and significant value are the Organization variable and the Competitiveness variable, with coefficient values of 2.60 and 2.83 respectively.
