Abstract

Increasing the number of elderly and lifestyle changes in the family led to the growth of caregivers for the elderly in addition to the family or household environment. The nursing home nursing home is a place provided by the government to help nurture and care for the elderly where health care is also provided for the elderly both physically and psychologically. But on the other hand, the absence of family around the elderly also affects the psychological elderly so it affects the quality of life of the elderly. This study aims to examine differences in the level of quality of life of the elderly who live in the Community and Nursing Home. This research uses quantitative analytical research, quantitative analysis using simple descriptive design. The study population was all elderly in the Posyandu Elderly Community Gizi Raharja in Winong, Boyolali and at the Nursing Home Dharma Bhakti in Pajang, Laweyan in April 2018. The study sample was 100 elderly people obtained by simple random sampling technique. Research data collection using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Mann Whitney test. The conclusion of the study is that different aspects of quality of life for the elderly who live in the Posyandu Elderly Community Gizi Raharja in Winong, Boyolali and Nursing Home Dharma Bhakti in Pajang, Laweyan Surakarta are physical aspects, whereas in psychological, social and environmental aspects there is no difference.
