Abstract

Principal innovation is an effort in school development based on the ideas and ideas of teachers that have been agreed upon together based on the results of joint deliberations, good innovation can be viewed by looking at the era of civilization that is growing rapidly, so education development must also be increasingly developed with a learning system. through appropriate learning methods. This study aims to discuss the principal's innovation in developing superior schools in MAN 1 Kolaka to examine the design of innovation programs designed and developed by the principal in improving the quality of education at MAN 1 Kolaka, using data reduction methods, data presentation and verification or drawing conclusions. and finally, the data validity is tested based on the validity of the data by triangulating techniques and sources. The results of the study concluded that the principal of MAN 1 Kolaka had an innovative design in developing superior schools, namely imaniyah and scientific innovation, so that the formation of an extracurricular program, an extracurricular scientific writing program and a boarding program. In addition, the principal undertakes strategies including: coaching-based strategies, renewal and change-based strategies, planning strategies in recruiting human resources and excellence strategies in order to maintain superior schools.
