Abstract

Generator is an electric engine that can convert motion energy into electricity. The generator used in the generating system is a synchronous generator. A synchronous generator is an AC generator where the voltage and frequency values are directly proportional to the rotor's rotary speed. In the process of generating energy in PLTP by combining turbines with generators, in motion energy generators come from motion in turbine. Almost all plants in Indonesia use generators so that generators are one of the important components in the generating system in supplying electricity to the community. One of the things that affects the work of the generator is the change of load that can affect the power loss of the generator. In this study, the analysis of the effect of load changes on power loss on generators. Research using research data collection method and analysis of power loss calculation can find out the power loss in generator PT. Indonesia Power UPJB Kamojang. The result of the study is that the change in load affects the loss of power in the generator, the loss of power on the stator is affected by the load current supplied on the generator the greater the load then the loss of stator power will be greater. The excitation current in the generator changes - the change does not correspond to the size of the load, this is because the voltage on the generator is maintained to always be stable.
