Abstract

Pasar Kliwon sub-district is one of the densely populated sub- districts in Surakarta City with various kinds of community activities. Human activities or social behavior can pollute the environment if not properly maintained. Water is a basic necessity in life whose quality can be decreased by various factors including human activities. This study entitled "Analysis of the Effect of the Existence of the Iron Market on Groundwater Quality in Pasar Kliwon District". It aims to determine the quality of groundwater in Pasar Kliwon District, and to determine the effect of theexistence of the iron market on the quality of groundwater in Pasar Kliwon District Determination of groundwater quality in this study was carried out by laboratory tests of groundwater samples. The method in this research is field survey. The analysis in this study using the method descriptive analysis and 2 simple linear regression analysis. The results of the groundwater quality test are mapped to determine the quality of groundwater so that the cause of the pollution can be identified and statistical tests are carried out to determine the level of the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The parameters tested in this study were physical parameters to determine temperature, odor, color, taste in roundwater and measurement of groundwater chemical parameters such as pH and Fe (Ferrous Metal). Areas that have groundwater that do not comply with the quality standards for groundwater quality are Rt / Rw. 02/06 Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon, Rt / Rw. 02/09 Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon, and Rt / Rw. 03/09 Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon. The results obtained in this study are the acceptance of H0 because the sig value in the regression test results is 0.149 or the distance variable simultaneously does not have a significant effect on groundwater quality.
