Abstract

Literature study were conducted to determine the effect of sea water on the relationship between lime stabilization and unconfined compressive strength, on clay with pure water comparison. This research uses literature study method by collecting data in several journals concerned with research. The clay soil used in this study uses general clay soil according to the standardcharacteristics of clay soil. The main objective of this study was to know comparison effect of sea water and pure water on soil properties of lime stabilization and determine effect sea water on lime stabilization of clay soil with regression method. The variation of the soil properties data is soil consistency limits test (Atterberg Limit) which includes the liquid limit test (LL), plastic limit (PL), and plasticity index (PI) and compaction tests than obtained Optimum Moisture content. The Data is divided into 2 variations including pure water and sea water. Pure water is here as a comparison of data for sea water so it gets a conclusion about the effect of sea water. In the data there is a percentage of lime (%) and the value of qu (kg /cm2).That way the data is processed by the simple linear regression method. Equation variable data can be used to calculate the effect that has a variable value that has been set in the equation. The result showed that increases of linear regression value by comparisson between Percentage Lime and UCS (qu) of Pure Water and Sea Water. The equation is y = 0.3958x - 0.6027 R²=0.5108 for pure water then increased to y = 0.7162x + 1.0786 R² = 0.8175 for Sea Water.
