Abstract

Water is a resource that very important for life and dynamic, especialy groundwater. The existence of groundwater is influenced by recharege water from rainwater and surface water that enters through groundwater recharge area. The development area of the Bantul Regency has caused to land use changes that reduced the water recharge area. The aim of this research are to create a map of groundwater recharge area and analyze the potential distribution of groundwater recharge area in Bantul Regency. In general, the method used in this study is weighted tiered quantitative analysis method using overlay for land use parameter, slope, lithology, drainage density, and lineament density. Based on the result of the groundwater recharge potential analysis in Bantul Regency, there are three potential classes, namely medium, high, and very high potential classes. The medium potential class has an area of 193,948 km2 spread across Kasihan, Sewon, and Banguntapan Districts. The high potential class has an area of 318,072 km2 spread across Dlingo and Imogiri Districts. The very high potential class has an area of 2,319 km2 which is dominated by Imogiri District. The result of the analysis of groundwater recharge potential can be used as consideration in planning, managing, and determining policies on groundwater management in an integrated and sustainable manner.
