Abstract

Background: Patients who co-infected TB HIV are tuberculosis patients with HIV positive or PLWHA (people living with HIV/AIDS) with tuberculosis. In principle, the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis in people with HIV/AIDS is the same as for HIV negative people including rapid molecular test (TCM), sputum AFB (Acid-Resistant Bacteria) examination, and radiological examination. The molecular rapid test examination in TB HIV patients was more negative with radiological images not typical of TB. Purposive: To find out the difference in the radiological features of TB HIV patients with positive and negative molecular rapid test (TCM). Methods: This study used a cross sectional study design and was conducted in September - November 2020 in RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta. There were 17 subjects as respondents taken by purposive sampling technique. The data of molecular rapid test and radiological features were taken using medical records of TB HIV patients in RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The data were analyzed bivariate using fisher’s test. Results: The value of molecular rapid test are p= 0.515 (p> 0.05) which means there is no significant difference between radiological features in TB HIV patients with positive and negative molecular rapid tests statistically. Conclusion: There is no a significant difference between radiological features in TB HIV patients with positive and negative molecular rapid tests statistically.
