Abstract
Mount Lawu is an area that is famous for its vegetable farming products, one of which is the Desa Berjo. This research is entitled The Welfare of Vegetable Farmers Based on Socio-Economic Conditions in Berjo Village, Ngargoyoso District, Karanganyar Regency in 2020. The purpose of this study is to determine and describe the welfare of vegetable farmers in Berjo Village, Ngargoyoso District based on socio-economic conditions and to describe the characteristics of vegetable farmers in the village. Berjo, Ngargoyoso District. Then to find out and analyze the factors that affect the economic welfare (income) of vegetable farmers based on aspects of socio-economic conditions in Berjo Village, Ngargoyoso District. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using a survey method. Methods of data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis. Sampling in this study using purposive sampling technique with a sample of 113 people. The results of this study are farmers' income from the vegetable farming sector with an income of <Rp. 3,360,867.00 which is the low income category, namely as many as 82 people or 72.6%, farmers with income between Rp. 3,360,867.00 - Rp. 7,779,247.00 which is in the medium category, namely as many as 13 people or 11.5%, and farmers with an income of Rp. 7,779,247.00 which is a high income category, namely 18 people or 15.9%. This means that most of the vegetable farmers in Berjo Village have low income from the vegetable farming sector. The characteristics of farmers in Berjo Village are dominated by men, although the involvement of women in this work is also quite large, namely 48%, while for the age group it is dominated by the age of 45-50 years, this shows the minimal involvement of the millennial generation in agriculture in the village of Berjo, whereas For the education level, the farmers in Berjo Village are dominated by elementary school graduates, namely 47.37%. The regression results showed that the variables X1 (production value), X2 (land area) and X3 (number of workers) had a positive and significant effect, based on the t test (partial test / effect of each), it was found that the variable (X3), namely the number of workers was the most dominant variable in influencing the income of vegetable farmers.
